This pattern has been one we have had in our range for about 5 seasons now. It is a hopper version of Albert Atkins from Garvagh’s original Johnston bumble. This fly has had a lot of success on the Donegal lakes and was a bit of a secret for Melvin at one time and works great on the other systems around Donegal from the rosses to Glen Lough were it was a favourite for seatrout and salmon I asked John McLaughlin to try it a few years back and he mentioned it took a lot of seatrout when other flies were being refused. It also works great on the Corrib in April time when the olives are up.
